Although the Foundation – Stiftung Regentropfen – is still very young, it has already plenty of work to do. Young people (both girls and boys) experience financial assistance and counselling equally. If a request for support is brought to the foundation, the volunteers always first check the family situation and the available financial aid opportunities among their relatives, so that the consciousness to help is awaken or kept alive. Even the families of the children are accompanied and encouraged not to give up on their children's education just because of limited financial resources. When all possibilities on the ground have been exhausted and the given resources capacity of the parents or relatives are considered, the foundation then gives the remaining needed support. This way, all participate in forming the life of the young ones.
Many children and young people are in need, but have no voice to make their plight known to the world. The foundation, Stiftung Regentropfen, is voice of these children and youth. You, our dear website visitor, have already heard this voice and you can even make it louder by donating to the foundation. The amount and frequency depends solely on you. You can determine whether you want to make a one time donation or you want to make periodical donations over a given period of time. In any case the choice is yours. Through your donation you make the foundation capable to act, so that it becomes an oasis for the children, where they can develop their future with confidence and less worries.
From experience, the foundation, Stiftung Regentropfen, does not run sponsorships as known from other organizations. It is wished that, the donations go to the Stiftung Regentropfen, so that all children and youth supported by it get the needed financial support. Many are the children (of various ages), who wish to go on with their education or learn a trade/profession. This is made possible through one-time and regular donations respectively. With this financial support the beneficiaries can make great strides into the future. It is sometimes, however, the wish of the donor or benefactor to donate regularly in support of a concrete young person. We surely respect and accept this desire or intention of the donor, and make it possible. (See also ""donations / sponsorships").
Monica and Ebenezer are dressed up for Sunday services. Although his mother runs a small business, she cannot consistently pay for all the school books for Monica and her little brother, Ebenezer. Monica has a sponsor, and is delight to be able to buy all her own books for the first. Ebenezer is supported currently from the donations made to the Foundation – Stiftung Regentropfen.
Immaculate is the fourth of five children. She lives in an intact family, but the father earns so little (about 60 € a month), that resources – even with the supplement from their mother, who runs a small grocery shop merits – are barely enough for the upkeep of the family. Without the sponsorship, which Immaculate receives and the support, which the other siblings receive from the foundation, Stiftung Regentropfen, good education would have been difficult for them.
Joana presents herself in her new school uniform. (Joana is one of the daughters of the half-brother of Fr. Moses. Both girls are living with their father who can for now only cater for their daily needs. The little income from his small business is not enough for their education.)
It is almost unimaginable for us in Germany and our children how grateful the beneficiaries and their families in Ghana are for the help they receive; how important, for instance, a school uniform is. From the external appearance alone, it gives the children a certain amount of equality and value in the classroom. Without the school uniform, poor children are very easy to recognize and can make them feel they don’t belong to the group.
An impression of the gratefulness of these children is exemplarily given by Joana who wrote a letter to her German benefactress (attached above and also a German translation).
