The Foundation, “Stiftung Regentropfen – Bildung zum Leben” was founded by Rev. Fr. Moses Asaah Awinongya SVD in the year 2009 under the umbrella of the Arnold-Janssen-Stiftung of the Divine Word Missionaries, German Province.
Its founding was made possible by the generous donation from a family, that for years had supported “Projekt Ghana – Pater Moses”. Rev. Fr. Moses Asaah (* 1972) is the director of the Foundation and thus the decision-maker thereof. He is a Divine Word missionary and lives in Germany since 2001. Prior to joining the
Divine Word Missionaries
, he studied B.sc. Administration at the
University of Ghana, Legon/Accra
. Besides the pursuance of a doctorate degree, Fr. Moses Asaah works since September 2007 as assistant parish in the parish communities of Fürstenried-Maxhof in the southern outskirts of Munich, Germany, and as the coordinator of Justice and Peace and Integrity of creation of German Province of the Divine Word Missionaries.
From his own life experience he has learnt to cherish every support that goes along way to help in the achievement of academic laurels or to the betterment of livelihood. He would not have gone further in his education if not for the timely help of other people. Out of gratitude to these people and from the basic Christian idea of helping share each other’s burden, this idea grew in him already from his youth to also want to help other people achieve good education or vocational training. Thus the basic idea of the project idea was born.
